VIDA Released Updates
Updates to the customer's software 2025
Updating the software ensures that it remains up to date with the latest features and improvements. Software updates are primarily done over the air (OTA) and all previous updates are included when you install one. All updates are available for installation from the release date at your Volvo dealer or an authorised Volvo workshop. Keep in mind, that you may be charged for the installation unless it’s included in a repair or service agreement. If an update isn’t available over the air you don’t have to schedule an appointment but can just wait until the next over-the-air update is available (not for China). If an update isn’t available in your car, you already have the latest version.

Volvo Android – Common
Content is applicable for all Volvo Android SPA1 and CMA cars (MY22-25 XC60, S90, S90L, V90, V90cc and MY23-25 S60, V60, V60cc and XC90, MY21-25 XC40 BEV, C40, and MY23-25 XC40 Mild hybrids) and all markets unless specifically mentioned.
Software release date: 10 February 2025. This update will be available as an over-the-air download about three weeks after the software release date.
Intelligent Speed Assist (only for ISA markets)
You can toggle the speeding response to be either a sound alert or a more adaptive pedal in the Driver support menu in the centre display. You can also turn the warning off using the left steering wheel button regardless of what type of response you’ve selected.

We’ve also updated the symbol for Intelligent Speed Assist.
These changes are only for model year 2024 and later cars.
Speech (Only for China)
Speech for vehicle function control - Seat position & reading light.
Newly added full-time wake up free for driver’s seat: commands can be given directly without a wake-up word under some scenarios, such as navigation, air conditioning, etc. (Turn on via speech assistant)
Add voice commands to adjust and save seat memory positions
Add voice commands to turn on/off the reading lights
Other improvements
The availability of remote functions in the Volvo Cars app, such as locking, unlocking and parking climate control has been extended. These functions are now available 22 days after you’ve left the car.
We’re introducing picture-in-picture (PiP) for model year 2024 cars equipped with the 360 camera. When you’re using the parking view, the assisted parking lines in the picture-in-picture rear view will change lengths depending on the overlay position in the centre display. This is only applicable for cars that have the picture-in-picture view (not for China).
The car supports Arabic languages (only for XC90 OneHMI).
Reintroduction of the ETA symbol in the driver display (not for China).
Volvo Android – CMA
Content is applicable for all Volvo Android CMA cars (MY21-25 XC40 BEV, C40, and MY23-25 XC40 Mild hybrids) and all markets unless specifically mentioned.
Other improvements
The windows can now be operated without a key present when the ignition is turned on (not for BEVs).

This update also contains some tweaks and fixes. Including improvements to:
Adaptive high beam stability to prevent flashing (for model year 2022 and later cars).
One Pedal Drive Auto mode for cars without Adaptive Cruise Control or Pilot Assist (for model year 2024 cars). (Not for China)
The windows can now be operated without a key present when the ignition is turned on (for model year 2018 and later cars)

Note:
After installing this update you’ll have to save a new reference value for the Indirect Tyre Pressure Monitoring System (iTPMS). To do this, press the app library symbol and go to Car status, then select Store pressure. (only BEV) You can read more about iTPMS in the user manual. (only BEV)
Android Auto (Not China, Korea)
Android Auto can be used with Android devices via the centre display, your Android phone or with the right-side steering wheel buttons. When installed, it lets you listen to music, make calls, get driving directions and use apps customised for your car. To use the Android Auto app, it needs to be installed on your Android device and connected to the internet.
You can also control the apps using voice-control in Google Assistant. To do this:
Press and hold the voice control button on the steering wheel to start voice control with Android Auto. Press it briefly to use the car’s internal voice control system.
If Android Auto doesn’t connect, press and hold the voice control button again to restart the process.
Starting navigation through Android Auto will cancel any current route guidance from the car’s systems. Route description needs to be active to show the map.

HD Radio (only US)
HD Radio allows the car to receive digital versions of radio stations. Listening to digital radio can give you better sound and a smoother listening experience. When you're listening to an HD Radio station, you will see the HD Radio symbol in the centre display. You can see HD Radio symbols in the radio app's stations list and now playing view.
You can mark a radio station as a favourite by pressing the star symbol next to the station.
Smartification features (only China)
Netease CloudMusic is available and provides SQ and HD sound quality.

Waiting rounds and countdown dynamics of traffic lights at intersections are now displayed in real time. You can also customise the map to show available charging stations.
For scenarios involving experienced and familiar drivers, only core information such as steering actions, speed limit electronic eyes, and road conditions will be broadcasted to minimise interference with users.

General improvements
If you see a message in the driver display saying that air suspension is turned off, it will automatically turn back on once you start driving. You can also turn it on in the centre display. (only S90, V90 and XC90)
Road sign information might show the wrong number during start-up after updating. This will reset once the car gets a new value from the camera or the map. (not China, Korea)

We’ve fixed an issue where the car sometimes didn’t detect the key when it was started. This only applies to late model year 2024 and later cars (only C40 BEV and XC40 BEV).
Volvo Android – SPA
Content is applicable for all Volvo Android SPA cars (MY22-25 XC60, S90, S90L, V90, V90cc and MY23-25 S60, V60 and XC90) and all markets unless specifically mentioned. (3.2.5):
